In 2017 he was selected in the 8th round of the MLB draft by the Cincinnati Reds. He was the highest selected player from UIC since Curtis Granderson in 2003.

In 2017 he was selected in the 36th round of the MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants. He was a 2X MiLB All-Star and named SF Giants MiLB pitcher of the month for the month of April 2018.
